When you click the "Purchase Policy" button, the app communicates with our Solana smart contract. The contract creates a new insurance policy, associating it with your wallet and the specified event ID.
Each insurance policy comes with predefined conditions for making a claim. These conditions are typically time-based (e.g., claims can be made if an event occurs after a specific date/time). The smart contract is designed to monitor or respond to off-chain data (such as from an oracle) to determine whether these conditions are met.
When conditions are met (e.g., if a flight is delayed beyond a certain time), you can claim your insurance directly through the app. Enter the Event ID and click "Claim Policy." The smart contract will verify the conditions and, if everything checks out, transfer the insured amount from the contract to your wallet, marking the policy as claimed.
